Wil Wheaton – Pic Says It All

I think that is the same expression we would all have wearing that sweater. Go Wil
Zero Debt City Mayor – 88!
Where's Leo?
Dang man, where you at?
A few things lately. General business, mainly stemming from writing a guide for STO, which by the way launched today. Should you play it? No, not today. Maybe in a few months. There’s missing about 3 months of dev time on the game for it to be tier 1. Right now, it’s a simple, single player game that you have to pay 15$ a month to play. Doesn’t make sense to me.
Second. Mass Effect 2. See, I love Bioware so take this with a grain of salt but Mass Effect 2 is the best game they have ever made. And this coming from someone who LOVES Dragon Age. It might not be as long but damn if there aren’t dozens of times where I paused and thought, wow. Whoever wrote the script for this game deserves medals, heaps of medals. Every single aspect that was wrong in Mass Effect 1 has been corrected. No more Mako. Inventory makes SENSE! Better skill management. More dialog options. No more elevators!!! It took about 30 hours to finish and I did all the side stuff. Let’s say there are 24 missions, give or take. Each one has 2-5 choices to make, which change the outcome of the game. Then there are the choices when you’re NOT on a mission. It’s really quite ridiculous. You could play the game 10 times and have 10 completely different experiences.
Last but not least, work. I’ve been pondering some things at the job the past few weeks. Trying to find some direction in what appears to be a pool of trouble. I had a week of training last week which seems to have made the waters clearer but at the same time made the pool about 20 times bigger. Fun times…
Meat fest is coming up though.
Do Not Watch This at Work!
You have been warned!!
Cullen Runs for Mayor
I rarely post things of this nature but I wanted to link to it for 2 reasons. First, my opinions of Cullen are at best expletive (Doucet and Munter are right in the same bag) and second, look at the comments section on this article. Now, I’m not saying that the CBC commenters are an accurate slice of the Ottawa populace but holy shart, 99% of all comments are negative against the guy.
The good news is that you have to give up your councilor seat to run as mayor. This is exactly why everyone was happy Munter ran in the last elections as he’s now gone from our landscape.
Suffice it to say, this is simply political suicide. Which to be honest, does not surprise me one bit with Cullen.
Common Expectations
Pay attention to the progress of the act and then the summary response at the end. Isn’t the human brain amazing?
Monday Musings
Mondays, happy mondays.
– Finished Assassin’s Creed 2. Why you ask? Mental diseases where I have to I suppose. The game gets better but is still not worth the hassle. Money is useless after the 2nd bank upgrade. Weapons are all the same. Catacombs make you want to throw your controller at the wall with bad response times. Combat consists solely of counter kills. Oh, and Leonardo’s flying contraption? Garbage. What does improve then? Well the story gets a lot better if not more ridiculous. How does an assassin trust someone who he’s met for the first time and then murder 100s for him? Putting that aside, it has a nice sci-fi twist that is going to link DIRECTLY into 2012, which is when Assassin’s Creed 3 will come out, I swear to you. Movement on houses gets miles better in Venice. Why? Well for one, there are a hell of a lot less holes on the rooftops. Second, climbing towers doesn’t take 45 minutes (Tuscany I am looking at you). Third, and most importantly, there’s water. Falling from a roof or tower (it happens a lot) doesn’t hurt you in the water. Yay. Rent it if you want but I would not recommend buying it.
– Don’t go shopping
– If you like talking about your neighbor’s yard, you should talk to your neighbor to see how he feels about it. You’d be surprised I’m sure.
– I think the universal gift is sleep. Everyone needs more.
AMAs – Wow

Sarah Palin Book Signing
Surprisingly not offensive. On the flipside, ignorance is part neutral. Obama-ites had the exact same reactions at his signings.
They have valid points, social responsibility, government distancing, etc… but have absolutely no idea of scope and application. It would take years to explain the core problems in the US to the majority of Americans, which is sad. Though from a good side you can clearly see that the people standing in line are not in any way shape or form the same age group of people that follow Obama. I really wonder where the Republican youth movement stands.
